Regatta profile & participants
The Slovak Sailing Challenge (SSCH) is a Slovak regatta, building upon sailing events organized since 2002. It draws inspiration from Slovak and Czech sailing experience of sports crews & skippers, emphasizing fair competitive sailing at sea, international regattas and the involvement and inputs of race officials from Slovakia and Croatia. The sports event provides a platform, structure and organization that supports athletes in their competition and proving their skills. Fair play, mutual respect and skill development are key qualities this regatta aims to establish and intends to foster in long-term perspective.
The Slovak Sailing Challenge will create an arena for young talented sailors, women in crews, experienced skippers as well as crews enticed by competitive sailing and skilled sails trimming at sea. The organizing team tailors the event to be a pleasant sporting experience, promoting networking, sharing experiences and collaboration within the sailing community.
We will maximize the time of the entire fleet rental and leverage the experience of our local and international officials to allow crews spend as much time as possible at sea, under sails and to experience a diverse range of races and formats. We are also preparing training races to facilitate the crews‘ familiarization with the boats and offer an opportunity for sailors and helmsmen to learn from and consult the race officers and experienced skippers, enhancing their athletic performance and the overall experience of regatta participation.
The regatta aspires to become the most prestigious competition event in Slovak sailing world with international participation in the coming years.
Over 6 competitive days skippers and crews will experience a blend of courage, speed, adrenaline, as well as team spirit and space for proving their seamanship.
Top-class sports sailing keelboats
designed and crafted on the requirements from experienced sea-racing skippers who cherish fast and reliable sailboats. With two types of boats available, crews have the choice to pick a boat for the regatta due to their preferences of sails and rigging. These sportive sailboats offer a platform for 200 of the finest competitors, not only from Slovakia, to prove their tactical, technical and team-based skills, along with a spirit of fair play.

Entry fee for the crews
- 7 600,- Eur – crews aiming for the International Champion award in the Salona 46 fleet (up to 10 people)
- 6 600,- Eur – crews competing within the SSCH event in the First 45 fleet (up to 10 people)
One of our goals is to enhance safe sailing and the conscious decision-making of skippers regarding boat rental and participation in regattas, especially among Slovak sailors. The organizer aims to create an offer for crews to increase their peace of mind and certainty during competition by providing a quality insurance offer for crews, skippers, and deposits. This will enable them to focus on their sporting goals and their sailing. This offer will be available to registered skippers.
The organizing team understands the crews‘ needs, including the need for relax and comfort after the race. With the organizer’s assistance skippers will be able to book accommodation for their crew members at locations where races will finish and evening programme will be held.
BONUS
To motivate, appreciate, and welcome crews that contribute the racing with their perspective, bring in different experience and tactics to the racing field – for instance, younger athletes from dinghy boats, race officer and coaches aboard, or women at the helm – we’re collaborating to approach companies focusing on these groups‘ lives, work, or sports activities for the „One-4-One sponsor“ role. This approach can make participation in the regatta intriguing as a reward for a successful sailing season or an opportunity to compete in an experienced fleet. We’ll also directly engage crews that will enrich the sports experience and competition at the starting line.
