- Slovak Sailing Challenge 2025: Pre-registration is now open
We are excited to announce the date for the Slovak Sailing Challenge 2025. The event will take place at the traditional time, which you can find on our website.
To ensure you don’t miss any important updates and to secure your spot in the race, we have launched pre-registration. By pre-registering, you will receive all the latest news and have your place secured even after the official registration opens.
A new feature this year is the option for individuals to sign up too. These participants will be added to experienced crews, so if you don’t have your own team, you can join and participate.
We’re also working on more improvements this year to enhance your racing experience. You can look forward to an unforgettable event. The Notice of Race and official registration will open in mid-January.
- Change in regatta organisation – „practice & sail & race“
Slovak Sailing Challenge is starting its pilot project in 2024 – friendly, training regatta, putting the „big plans“ with the championship aside.
The plan ashore remains the same – we keep the route of the regatta and the marinas – see info on the website, there will be more races and a joined evening program. We will adjust the final course of the daily plans according to the size of fleet, needs of crews and the weather forecast. The goal is to use the available wind conditions as much as possible, to enjoy as many races as possible – we will alternate between short navigational races and windward&leewards courses, learn new „hints“ for racing and get to know the organization of races at sea. Sailing from Sunday until Friday, complete interesting races in a community and among fond and skilled sailors who are looking forward to this joint sporting experience.
Entry fee for sailing the Salona 46 fleet has been decreased by the organizer, thanks to simplifying the organizational challenges by one fleet.
- Register for the regatta, choose your sailboat – Salona 46 & you will compete for the Slovak Champion of 2024
The Slovak Sailing Challenge regatta has been appointed the International Championship of the Slovak Republic for sports crews sailing Salona 46 sailboats.
You can enter the championship and compete within the Salona 46 fleet or compete in the First 45 fleet in Slovak Sailing Challenge and be part of the championship event.
The Notice of Race (International Slovak Championship 2024 in Salona 46 fleet & Slovak Sailing Challenge 2024 regatta for First 45 fleet) will be published in English by the end of February.
The regatta entries are opening from February 14, 2024, and you can find all the information about the regatta and the championship here on the website.
Regatta
Slovak Sailing Challenge (SSCH) is a Slovak regatta that builds on regattas’ history since 2002. It has been inspired by the Slovak, Czech & Croatian sailing experience and needs of sportive sailing crews & skippers. The regatta is promoting fair competitive sailing, as well as international regattas and the work of sports professionals from Slovakia and Croatia. The regatta invites athletes to fair competition and presenting their skills. The organizer aims to foster long term connection in the sailing community, promoting mutual respect among sailors and brining new experience from competition.
Slovak Sailing Challenge also welcomes young talented sailors, women in crews, experienced skippers and crews interested in competition as well as detailed work with sails.
You can make use of the full boat charter time of the sailboat you register for. Organizing team has invited a team of international race officials and judges to boost the sportive setting of the racing. The event starts with training races and racing is planned until the end of the week, exploiting the boat rental to maximum extent. One of the goals is to provide crews with as much time at sea & under sails as possible. Race committee is preparing various racing scenarios. Within the training races you can learn from more experienced skipper or consult race officials to enhance your sporting performance and experience participating in the regatta in a learning way.
Sailboats
We have selected the Salona 46 sports sailboats from available fleets in Croatia, manufactured by a local Croatian producer based on the requirements of experienced regatta sailors. These boats combine high performance with comfort and offer enough space for a 10-person crew.
The top 100 male and female sailors, not only from Slovakia, will have the opportunity to showcase their tactical, technical, and team skills on these sailboats, while enjoying comfort during the regatta.
